Kitui County Assembly Speaker Kevin Kinengo has said his bid for the Kitui County senatorial seat is not driven by a hunger for political power, but by a commitment to strengthening devolution and securing more development resources for the people of Kitui.
Speaking during a women empowerment and public engagement forum in Kitui West, Kinengo said the Senate should be used effectively to champion the interests of counties and push for increased funding to support development programmes that directly improve the lives of residents.
Kinengo said his passion is to see Kitui benefit more from devolution, promising to aggressively fight for increased development funds while advocating for policies and resources that can accelerate the county’s transformation. He urged residents to elect leaders based on their ability to deliver rather than their political affiliations.
“I urge our electorate to look beyond political formations and regional boundaries. Let us elect development-oriented leaders who are ready to transform lives,” Kinengo said, as he continued to position himself as a candidate focused on development, devolution and the interests of Kitui residents.
