Madam Kivoto is among a growing number of farmers in Mutomo town who have adopted new farming technologies to boost productivity.
The innovative practices, which include improved irrigation systems and climate-resilient crop varieties, are transforming agriculture in the semi-arid region.”These technologies have helped me increase my yields despite the harsh weather conditions,” said Madam Kivoto.
The move is part of a broader initiative to improve food security and livelihoods in Kitui County, with support from agricultural stakeholders. Local leaders are encouraging more farmers to follow suit as the region seeks to combat the effects of climate change.
