IGRTC Pays Courtesy Call on Kitui Governor Dr. Julius Malombe

Kitui, 17 October 2024 – The Intergovernmental Relations Technical Committee (IGRTC) paid a courtesy call on Kitui Governor Dr. Julius Malombe at his office today. Led by Commissioner Linet Mavu, the IGRTC team discussed key issues aimed at strengthening intergovernmental relations and the role of governors in the intergovernmental ecosystem.

The meeting focused on fostering effective and harmonious relations between the national and county governments, in line with the goals of devolution as outlined in the Constitution. Discussions touched on various aspects such as the implementation of joint projects, performance of concurrent functions, and the crucial matter of asset transfers in counties.

Governor Malombe expressed his commitment to ensuring that Kitui County plays an active role in fostering intergovernmental cooperation, with a view to improving service delivery to residents. The visit underscores the importance of collaboration between different levels of government in enhancing governance and development in counties.
