Kanziko Ward Member of County Assembly (MCA), Hon. Kyalo Kimuli, has raised concerns about the political direction in Kitui County, warning that continued infighting among leaders could derail development efforts for another three years.
Speaking in Kanziko, Hon. Kimuli lamented the lack of progress between 2017 and 2022, which he attributed to political conflicts and lack of unity among leaders. He called on leaders across the county to set aside their personal differences and prioritize service delivery to residents.
“It’s high time for our leaders to set aside their personal differences and work for their people,” he emphasized.
While acknowledging the frustrations of the electorate, Hon. Kimuli urged caution and patience in resolving conflicts, insisting that impeachment should only be considered as a last resort.
“We need to exhaust all avenues of conflict resolution before arriving at impeachment. Impeachment should be the last option to think of. My people need water, good health, roads, and other government services,” he said.
Hon. Kimuli reiterated the urgent need for leaders to focus on addressing critical challenges such as access to clean water, healthcare services, and infrastructure improvement to uplift the livelihoods of their constituents.
His remarks resonate strongly with residents of Kanziko Ward, who have consistently demanded better service delivery and a break from the political wrangling that has plagued Kitui County in recent years.
The MCA’s call for unity and development-focused leadership comes as political tensions in Kitui County escalate, with ongoing debates over governance and leadership strategies.
“Andu ma Kanziko mbee,” concluded Hon. Kimuli, reaffirming his commitment to the people of Kanziko and their development aspirations.
