On Saturday, 4th May 2024 -The County CECM for Agriculture and Livestock Dr. Stephen Mbaya Kimwele presided over the Closure Meeting of the National Agricultural and Rural Inclusive Growth Project ( NARGIP) in Mwingi town.
Speaking after officially concluding the program slated to end on June 30th, the CECM commended the farmers for their participation and contribution towards the success of the project by awarding them with appreciation certificates.
He emphasized the need for farmer groups to form Savings and Credit Cooperative Societies (SACCOS) to reap further benefits.
He encouraged them to conduct elections judiciously, ensuring representation from diverse demographics, including youth, Persons Living with Disabilities (PLWDs), and ensuring gender balance.
He further reiterated Governor Dr. julius Malombe’s Commitment to fostering inclusivity and fairness to all by ensuring equitable distribution of resources to all farmers groups across Kitui.
