Kitui KNUT Official Urges Parents to Keep Children at Home as Teachers’ Strike Begins Monday

Kitui – Parents in Kitui County have been urged to keep their children at home on Monday, as the teachers’ strike is set to begin. The warning was issued by Mr. Simon Mutunga Nding’o, the Secretary General of the Kitui branch of the Kenya National Union of Teachers (KNUT).

He emphasized that the ongoing strike would create a lack of security in schools, as teachers would not be present to supervise students.

Mr. Nding’o stressed that the strike would continue until the government meets the demands of the teachers. He pointed out that teachers have been pushing for better working conditions and fair compensation, and that the government’s failure to address these concerns has led to the escalation.
