In a candid discussion on Kenya Broadcasting Corporation’s (KBC) “Eyes in Politics” morning talk show, Yatta kwa Vonza Member of County Assembly (MCA) Hon. Mark Nding’o voiced his concerns over the state of governance in the country.
He emphasized that Kenyan leaders should prioritize service delivery instead of focusing on political ambitions and rhetoric.
Hon. Nding’o, an expert in governance and leadership, argued that the recent push for extending term limits for elected officials is counterproductive and a “worthless cause” for the country. He stated, “The country cannot sustain this unending pursuit to extend terms in office. Leaders need to focus on serving the people and delivering on their promises instead of furthering their personal agendas.”
The MCA’s remarks come at a time of ongoing debate on whether to extend term limits for elected leaders. However, Hon. Nding’o firmly opposed the idea, calling it a misguided approach that should be “discarded in totality.”
He urged fellow leaders to shift their focus from political maneuvering to actual governance and tangible service delivery, which he believes will foster sustainable development and improve citizens’ livelihoods.
