Kwa Vonza, Kitui County: Member of County Assembly (MCA) for Kwa Vonza Ward, Hon. Mark Ndingo, has praised the Kitui County Assembly committees for their improved efficiency in delivering committee reports. He highlighted that under the current leadership of Speaker Kevin Kinengo, the assembly has demonstrated a significant improvement in governance and accountability.
Ndingo contrasted the current assembly’s performance with the previous one, which he claimed was often marked by overseas trips with little to show in terms of tangible results. He commended the current assembly for adopting a more focused approach, ensuring reports are submitted promptly, sometimes within a month of the committees’ activities.
“The assembly is making commendable strides in learning and implementing governance principles. Topics such as governance, accountability, inclusivity, the rule of law, and participatory leadership are critical for our transformation at both the county and national levels,” said Ndingo.
He emphasized that while learning is important, the true impact lies in the application of the lessons learned. “Without good governance, there can be no development or adherence to the rule of law,” he noted.
Ndingo urged fellow members to not only embrace the knowledge gained during learning sessions but also to implement it effectively for the benefit of the county and the nation.
The MCA lauded Speaker Kinengo’s leadership for fostering a culture of accountability and efficiency within the assembly. He highlighted that the prompt delivery of committee reports was a step in the right direction towards achieving the county’s development targets.
“This is a good report. If implemented, it can benefit not just our county but also the national government. I urge all honorable members to strive to practice what we learn to ensure a developed and accountable society,” he concluded.
The commitment to efficiency and governance underlines the assembly’s dedication to fostering development in Kitui County through collaborative and results-driven leadership.
