Kwa Vonza Member of the Kitui County Assembly, Hon. Mark Ndingo, has called on his fellow MCAs to set aside their differences and approve Governor Julius Malombe’s memorandum.
Speaking to the TCD Digital Editor, Hon. Ndingo emphasized the need for unity among the legislators to ensure the smooth functioning of the county government.
“I’m appealing to my colleagues to drop their hardline stance and pass the governor’s memorandum to allow the county to move forward,” said Ndingo. “Continued back-and-forth charades will delay service delivery to our people.”The memorandum, which has sparked debate among the MCAs, is reportedly crucial for unlocking stalled projects and streamlining governance in Kitui County.
However, opposition from some legislators has hindered its passage, causing delays in implementing key initiatives.Hon. Ndingo urged his colleagues to prioritize the welfare of Kitui residents, warning that prolonged disagreements could harm the county’s development agenda.“Let us focus on what matters most—the people we represent. Service delivery cannot be held hostage to political disagreements,” he added.
The call for cooperation comes amidst mounting pressure from Kitui residents, who have expressed concerns over the slow pace of development. As the stalemate continues, all eyes are on the county assembly to determine whether the legislators will heed the appeal and allow progress in Kitui County.
