Kitui Central Member of Parliament, Hon. Dr. Makali Mulu, has urged leaders to be accountable for their public statements. The distinguished Wiper MP raised questions about how ODM leaders, recently nominated to the cabinet, will defend government policies after having led attacks against the Kenya Kwanza administration in parliament.
Dr. Mulu emphasized that leaders should be principled and consistent in their words and actions. He noted that if he had been among those nominated to the cabinet, he would have declined the appointment to maintain his integrity.
His remarks come in response to President William Ruto’s decision to nominate vocal ODM critics of the government to cabinet positions.
Makali’s comments underscore a broader call for coherence and reliability in political discourse, urging leaders to stand by their words and uphold their responsibilities to the public, he was speaking during the agricultural trade fair show 2024 held at Ithookwe show ground.
