County Government of Kitui Holds CLIDP Validation Meeting in Yatta/Kwa Vonza Ward
On 29 October 2024 – Residents of Yatta/Kwa Vonza Ward gathered at the Kitui Rural Sub-County Administration Offices for the ongoing public participation exercise in the FY2024/2025 Community Level Infrastructure Development Programme (CLIDP).
The two-day countywide exercise, organized by the County Government of Kitui, seeks to involve community members in identifying priority projects and validating proposed infrastructure developments. This year’s program also includes the Pro-Poor Support Program and the identification of sand dam sites to bolster water resources for local communities.
The event in Yatta/Kwa Vonza Ward was led by the County Executive Committee Member (CECM) for Roads, Public Works, and Transport, Eng. Reuben Itiko, who engaged residents on the planned infrastructure projects and addressed their questions. Eng. Itiko emphasized the County’s commitment to inclusive development, highlighting the importance of community input to ensure that projects align with local needs and drive sustainable growth.
Also present and host at the forum was MCA Mark Ndingo, who echoed the importance of community participation, and Victor Mwangu, Assistant Director for Statistics and Economic Planning. The presence of these leaders underscored the County Government’s dedication to transparency and accountability in its development agenda.
As the CLIDP validation exercise wraps up across all 40 wards, residents in Kitui County have expressed optimism about the impact of these infrastructure projects, which are poised to enhance local services and promote equitable growth. This initiative is part of Kitui County’s broader commitment to “Delivering the Kitui Promise,” fostering a more prosperous future for all its citizens.
