Kitui Rural Member of Parliament Hon. Mboni Mwalika has revealed that both Azimio leader Raila Odinga and Wiper Party leader Kalonzo Musyoka are expected to vie for the presidency in 2027, alongside President William Ruto.
Speaking during the burial of a businessman in Kasasi, Kitui Rural, MP Mwalika urged the Kamba community to remain steadfast in their support for Kalonzo Musyoka. He expressed confidence that Kalonzo, with support from the Mt. Kenya region, stands a strong chance of winning the presidency.
“If Raila Odinga, President William Ruto, and Kalonzo Musyoka all contest, I believe Kalonzo will emerge victorious, followed by Raila in second place, and Ruto in third,” MP Mwalika stated.
The MP also raised concerns over the conduct of some government officials, alleging that Cabinet Secretary Hassan Joho had been issuing threats to the youth, known as “Gen Z,” while also accusing the president of sacking some of his cabinet members due to similar issues.
On matters of governance, Mwalika commended certain government programs SHIF ,SHA but criticized their implementation, terming it as the “missing link” hindering their effectiveness.
The remarks come as political alignments and strategies for the 2027 elections continue to take shape, with key leaders positioning themselves to contest for the country’s top seat.
