Kitui East Member of Parliament, Nimrod Mbai, has expressed gratitude to the Government of Kenya for deploying more than 80 police reservists to enhance security along the Kitui-Tana River border.
The reservists, who will undergo training at the Kanyonyoo Border Patrol Unit Training School, are expected to strengthen efforts in protecting local communities, especially in vulnerable areas.
Speaking to TCD Digital Media after a meeting with Deputy President Kithure Kindiki in Taita Taveta, MP Mbai emphasized the importance of this initiative for Kitui East residents, this has been made possible for being in Government
According to the MP, the deployment of police reservists will help secure the regions of Mutha, Voo, Kyamatu, Endau, and Malalani, providing a safer environment for local families, particularly women and children.

“The deployment of these police reservists by the Ministry of Interior, with the support of Deputy President Kindiki, is a crucial step toward a secure future for our communities,” said Mbai.
He highlighted the importance of the Kanyonyoo Border Police Camp in offering the specialized training that will equip the reservists to tackle security challenges along the border.
The addition of reservists in Kitui East marks a significant effort by the government to enhance security and stability in border regions, promoting peace and safeguarding residents from potential threats, this is the benefit of being in government.
