The Outstanding kitui south Mp Hon. Dr. Racheal Nyamai is making significant strides in ensuring the constituency develops holistically. Her development agenda focuses on improving infrastructure, enhancing education opportunities, and empowering local communities.
Dr. Nyamai has prioritized improving the road network across Kitui South, a move aimed at enhancing accessibility and stimulating economic growth. Additionally, she has actively sought national government support for the construction of hostels at Ikutha Technical Training Institute (TTI) in the current financial year.
The Ikutha TTI, now home to over 600 students, has emerged as a beacon of hope for Kitui South. Students benefit from almost full scholarships funded through the TVET program and the Kitui-NG-CDF, making technical education more accessible to many families. The institution also creates jobs and provides crucial skills to over 200 youth annually, contributing to sustainable economic growth in the region.
Supporting Boda Boda Operators Through SHA
In a separate initiative, Dr. Nyamai spearheaded a Social Health Assistance (SHA) registration drive targeting boda boda riders in Kitui South. Demonstrating her commitment to supporting small-scale entrepreneurs, she personally covered the registration fees for all participating boda boda operators. This initiative will ensure the riders and their families have access to affordable healthcare services.
Dr. Nyamai’s proactive leadership continues to transform Kitui South. From improving infrastructure to creating educational opportunities and addressing healthcare needs, her efforts are making a lasting impact.
