In a display of youth talent and community spirit, the Sammy Mutea Tournament Cup concluded at Kasunguni School Playgrounds in Zombe Mwitika Ward, Kitui East. Sponsored by local philanthropist Sammy Mutea, the event drew participants and spectators from across the region, showcasing competitive football matches and celebrating the unity of the local communities.
Spartans FC emerged victorious in the tournament, claiming the championship title and earning a cash prize of Ksh 50,000, along with a trophy, a new jersey, and a football. Ngungi FC, the runners-up, received Ksh 20,000, a jersey, and a ball, while Kasunguni FC secured third place with a reward of Ksh 10,000, a jersey, and a ball.
Kimangau FC took fourth place, receiving Ksh 6,000, a jersey, and a ball. The fifth-place team was awarded Ksh 3,000, a jersey, and a ball, while teams finishing in positions six through twelve were each given Ksh 2,000 and a jersey.
The tournament featured thrilling matches, including a dramatic penalty shootout where Kasunguni FC defeated Kikangau FC, and Spartans FC edged out Ngungi FC to secure their victory.
