St Charles Lwanga School opens 800 capacity dormitory worth Kshs 53m

The Safaricom Mpesa Foundation through the guidance of Nicholas Mulila, an esteemed Chief Corporate security officer at Safaricom has successfully constructed a state-of-the-art three-story dormitory at St Charles Lwanga Secondary School.

The dormitory, with a capacity to accommodate 800 students, stands as a testament to the foundation’s commitment to fostering educational excellence.

Funded by the Mpesa Foundation, this ambitious project reflects a dedication to supporting school infrastructure and providing a conducive environment for learning.

With St Charles School board chairperson Mr Nicholas Mulila at the helm, the safaricom foundation has invested over 25.8 Million Kenya Shillings into the construction of this ultra-modern dormitory, signaling a substantial contribution towards the betterment of educational facilities.

The total cost of the three-story dormitory is about 53 Million Kenya Shillings, showcasing the magnitude of the project and the commitment to quality.

This significant investment is poised to alleviate the congestion that has plagued the school, offering a more comfortable and conducive space for over 800 children to thrive.

Speaking about the project, Mr. Nicholas Mulila, who also serves as the Chairman of the school’s board of directors, expressed the foundation’s eagerness to support school infrastructure.
