Ukambani gifted Scribe wins coveted Media Fellowship

Philip Muasya, a gifted wordsmith and an award-winning journalist has bagged himself a coveted Media Fellowship.

With his remarkable storytelling profile, the scribe floured over 120 applicants drawn from Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, Ethiopia, the Democratic Republic of Congo and Sudan to emerge among the only 12 selected for the DNDi Eastern Africa Media Fellowship Award.

“Your application stood out among many talented journalists from six countries in East Africa and the Horn of Africa. We commend your dedication to impactful storytelling” the fellowship award letter reads in part.

For several months, the selected, lucky fellows will be engaged by an international consortium; Drugs for Neglected Disease Initiative (DNDi) to highlight impactful health-related stories on Neglected Tropical Diseases across the expanded East African countries and the Horn of Africa.

Muasya, with 10 years of experience in impactful and incisive reporting skills told The County Diary that he was both elated and humbled by the honour.

The chief editor of the popular County Diary Yoana Kimwele commended the journalist, saying he has made Kitui and Kenya proud with his professionalism.
