Why I Support Impeachment Motion Against Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua – Mp Charles Nguna

By TCD DIGITAL

Mwingi West MP Charles Nguna has voiced his strong support for the impeachment motion against Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua, citing several reasons tied to failed promises and perceived neglect of his constituency.

Nguna, in a statement, highlighted his dissatisfaction with Gachagua’s performance and accused him of failing to deliver on a promise to improve the Kwa Siku-Mbondoni road in Mwingi West.

According to the MP, Gachagua had pledged KSh 30 million to grade the road, which he says has instead been left in disrepair due to substandard work carried out by a contractor from Nakuru.”Wasn’t he the one who lied to me about 30 million to grade the Kwa Siku-Mbondoni road, only for his contractor to come and do a shoddy job, laying down rocks as murram? When I confronted him, he arrogantly responded, ‘I am in authority, you can do nothing,'” Nguna stated.

The legislator further claimed that the Deputy President blocked additional funds for the same project, citing regional “shareholding” as a reason for the lack of support for the road construction. In his criticism, Nguna also questioned Gachagua’s national leadership, accusing him of tribalism and suggesting that he only represents the interests of the Kikuyu community. He expressed frustration that Gachagua has never visited Mwingi West or advocated for the interests of the region, raising concerns about his commitment to serving the entire nation.

“Was he DP for the Kikuyus or the entire nation? Has he ever stepped in Mwingi West or even larger Mwingi to champion any interests touching the area?” Nguna posed. The Wiper party MP made it clear that his support for the impeachment motion is not motivated by financial gain or party politics. “I will vote YES and I don’t need any money to do so, and I haven’t taken a single cent! Wiper is not Gachagua, and Gachagua has never supported Wiper.
