Governor Julius Malombe on Saturday joined residents of Kituti village in Kitui South Sub-county to mourn the late Mzee John Nzengela Nguu, who passed away at the age of 127. Mzee Nguu was the grandfather of NTV journalist Ben Kitili.
Speaking during the burial ceremony, Governor Malombe expressed his condolences to the bereaved family and the community. He reiterated his government’s commitment to service delivery and improving the livelihoods of Kitui residents through various development initiatives.
Kitui Senator Enoch Kiio, who was also present, commended Governor Malombe for his dedication to implementing key projects in the county. He particularly lauded the establishment of the County Aggregation and Industrial Park at Kanyonyoo, which is set to enhance business growth and industrialization in the region.
Area Member of County Assembly (MCA) Muthama Kieti praised the county government for its continued efforts in implementing development projects across Kitui South. He acknowledged the positive impact of ongoing infrastructure and service delivery improvements spearheaded by the county leadership.
The event was attended by a section of County Ministers, Chief Officers, and other senior government officials. Political Advisor Mwangu Ivuti was also present, underscoring the significance of the gathering.
The burial brought together leaders and residents in a show of unity, reflecting on the legacy of Mzee Nzengela while reaffirming the county’s commitment to progress and development.
