Kitui Central is witnessing a wave of transformation as senior government officials led by Principal Secretary for Livestock Development Jonathan Mueke and State House Director for Presidential Events Bonnie Musambi toured ongoing national government projects in the constituency.
The inspection covered major flagship developments that are set to redefine Kitui’s socio-economic landscape. Among them is the Kitui State Lodge, whose construction is fast-tracked to be ready ahead of the Mashujaa Day celebrations.
At the Ithookwe Stadium, now in its eighth week, terraces are nearing completion. The 10,000-seater facility will host this year’s national Mashujaa Day event. Similarly, the Affordable Housing Project is shaping up as the tallest building in Kitui and the largest housing estate in the region, with show houses expected to be ready by October.
The delegation also inspected the Umaa Dam Project, which will benefit more than 75,000 households with clean and reliable water once completed, and noted that the tendering process for township roads had officially commenced today.
Collectively, the projects have already created over 4,000 job opportunities, signaling real impact for local communities. Officials praised President William Ruto’s bottom-up leadership model for driving unprecedented development in Kitui, while attributing all progress to divine providence.
