As political activity ahead of the 2027 General Election gathers momentum, fresh calls have been made for Governor Dr. Julius Malombe to be left out of succession politics. Supporters of the governor argue that his attention remains focused on completing his development agenda rather than engaging in political campaigns.
Bloggers, political commentators and leaders have been urged to avoid dragging Governor Malombe into the ongoing political debate surrounding his potential successor. The group said the governor is not a candidate in the 2027 election and should instead be allowed to concentrate on delivering his mandate.
The Governor Malombe’s administration has implemented more than 5,000 development projects across Kitui County since taking office. It said the projects have touched all wards and covered key sectors including healthcare, water, education, roads, markets and governance.
According to TCD Digital Editorial, the county government has overseen the construction and improvement of health facilities, vocational training centres, water supply projects, market infrastructure and ward administrative offices aimed at improving service delivery to residents.

The editor further argued that constant political attacks and attempts to associate the governor with succession politics risk diverting attention from ongoing development projects that are yet to be completed.
