The history of devolution has seen the gubernatorial seat revolve around kitui central for
for over a decade!
From Dr Malombe,the pioneer Governor who rolled out a massive development plan that saw kitui County take pride in devolution to Hon Charity Ngilu-Whose tenure was marred by controversy and again to Dr Malombe,currently running his final term!
Senator David Musila from Mwingi West and the kitui pioneer senator put spirited fight to serve as the second Governor-A gruelling political battle that saw him fall out with H.E Dr Kalonzo Musyoka over the Wiper ticket!
Senator Musila would give it a shot later in 2022 but again to development maverick Dr Malombe.
Is 2027 Mwingi regions time to have their rightful place at the house on the hill?
The current unfoldings within the wiper Gubernatorial race,a bruising show of mighty among Dr Irene Kasalu,Dr Makali Mulu and senator Kiio all bulwark supporters of The SKM and the Wiper patriotic leaves too much to be desired!
Dr Irene kasalus recent endorsement by Dr Mulyungi of Mwingi Central,A trusted confidant to SKM and street smart politician buoyed by the aggressive nature of her campaigns and the numerous forays in the Kitui County continues to reinforce the narrative-
That indeed Mwingi region could be edging closer to county Executive power
