Kitui gubernatorial hopeful CPA Nicholas Muinde Mulila has launched a sharp attack on his critics, challenging them to stop faulting his development efforts and instead use their own influence to improve the lives of Kitui residents.
Addressing supporters during a public engagement in kitui South, CPA Mulila defended his collaboration with development partners, saying the partnerships have enabled him to deliver meaningful interventions in communities across the county. He maintained that no leader should be criticized for mobilizing resources that directly benefit wananchi.
“Instead of complaining when I assist the great people of Kitui through development partners, why can’t you use your influence to help others?” Mulila posed, in remarks that appeared to target leaders who have questioned his development initiatives.
The gubernatorial hopeful argued that leadership should be defined by action rather than endless political criticism. He said the people of Kitui deserve leaders who bring solutions, attract investment, and create opportunities instead of engaging in divisive politics.
Mulila reiterated that his vision for Kitui is anchored on improving education, expanding access to clean water, strengthening healthcare services, empowering women, creating opportunities for young people, supporting faith-based institutions, and accelerating community development. He vowed to continue partnering with organizations and well-wishers to implement projects that improve the welfare of residents regardless of political opposition.
His remarks come as political activity intensifies ahead of the 2027 General Election, with aspirants increasingly outlining their development agendas while defending their records amid growing competition for the county’s top seat.
