Mutha Ward Residents Back Nicholas Mulila, Cite Water, Healthcare and Infrastructure Challenges

Residents of Mutha Ward have declared their support for Kitui gubernatorial hopeful CPA Nicholas Mulila, describing him as the leader they believe can unlock the area’s development potential ahead of the 2027 General Election.

During an engagement with local residents, community members highlighted longstanding challenges affecting the ward, including chronic water shortages, inadequate healthcare services, insecurity along the Tana River border, poor road infrastructure, youth unemployment, and limited economic opportunities.

The residents said they have endured decades of hardship, with many families walking long distances in search of water, health facilities struggling with shortages of medicine and personnel, and recurring insecurity disrupting livelihoods. They also expressed concern over poor roads that continue to hinder access to markets and essential services.

Addressing the gathering, Mulila pledged to prioritize equitable development across Kitui County if elected governor in 2027. He outlined his vision of expanding access to clean water, strengthening healthcare services, improving road networks, enhancing security through collaboration with relevant agencies, creating employment opportunities through investment, and empowering young people and persons with disabilities.

Mulila said no village should be left behind in the county’s development agenda, promising inclusive leadership focused on addressing the needs of underserved communities.

His visit to Mutha Ward forms part of his ongoing grassroots engagements as he seeks support for his 2027 gubernatorial bid.
