KITUI, Thursday, August 27, 2026 — Kitui Governor Dr. Julius Malombe today hosted a delegation from the Kenya Red Cross Society led by the Society’s Deputy Secretary General for Programmes, Mr. Joe Mbalu, for a courtesy call at the County Government Headquarters.
The meeting provided an opportunity for the two institutions to review and strengthen their longstanding partnership aimed at improving the welfare and resilience of Kitui residents.
Discussions focused on key areas of collaboration, including water and sanitation, healthcare, disaster risk management and emergency response. The partnership remains critical in supporting communities affected by emergencies and addressing humanitarian needs across the county.
Governor Malombe welcomed the Kenya Red Cross team and reaffirmed the County Government’s commitment to working closely with humanitarian partners to improve service delivery and strengthen the county’s preparedness and response to disasters.
The engagement comes as the County Government of Kitui continues to pursue partnerships that complement its development programmes and enhance the wellbeing of residents through coordinated interventions in critical sectors.
