Yatta Kwa Vonza MCA Hon. Mark Nding’o has said his biggest dream is to transform the ward into a model area that other wards across Kitui County can benchmark for development and effective leadership.
Speaking exclusively to TCD Digital, Nding’o said his close working relationship with Governor Dr. Julius Malombe is driven by his commitment to delivering development to the people of Yatta Kwa Vonza, rather than political affiliations. He said leaders are elected by the people to serve them and should put development ahead of political differences.
“The reason why leaders are elected by the people is to work for them despite political affiliations,” Nding’o said, highlighting several projects he has lobbied for during the last four years, including hospitals, road grading and Early Childhood Development Education (ECDE) classrooms.
The MCA urged his fellow Members of the County Assembly to work closely with Governor Malombe and other leaders to accelerate development across the county. He noted that political disagreements should not prevent elected leaders from collaborating on projects that directly benefit residents.
“All leaders are elected to work for the people who elected them, not for personal interests,” Nding’o said, urging leaders to remain focused on their mandate and use their positions to improve the lives of their constituents. He said his ambition is to make Yatta Kwa Vonza a ward that other areas can look to as an example of what can be achieved through cooperation and people-centred leadership.
