Kitui County Assembly member representing Yatta-Kwa-Vonza MCA Hon. Mark Kitute Ndingo on Friday joined Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka and other party leaders in Kilifi to welcome former Public Service Cabinet Secretary Hon. Aisha Jumwa into the Wiper Patriotic Front (WPF).
The colourful reception in Malindi was marked by a strong display of support, with hundreds of residents turning out in a sea of Wiper blue. Ndingo said the reception demonstrated the growing momentum of the party at the Coast, describing the turnout as a clear message from the people of Kilifi.
Jumwa has officially left the United Democratic Alliance (UDA) and joined WPF, where she has been designated as the party’s Deputy Party Leader and unveiled as the party’s gubernatorial candidate for Kilifi County. The development follows consultations between Jumwa and the WPF leadership.
Ndingo was among a team of senior leaders accompanying Kalonzo Musyoka during the event. Others included WPF Deputy Party Leader-designate and Nyali MP Hon. Mohamed Ali, Senate Deputy Minority Leader Hon. Enoch Kiio Wambua, Mwingi North MP Hon. Paul Nzengu, Wundanyi MP Danson Mwashako and WPF spokesperson Ndegwa Njiru.
The leaders welcomed Jumwa’s move, saying it strengthens WPF’s presence at the Coast as the party continues its national mobilisation ahead of the 2027 General Election.
“Pwani haiko peke yake. WPF iko na nyinyi,” the leaders told residents, signalling the party’s intention to deepen its grassroots presence across the Coast and beyond.
Ndingo’s participation in the Kilifi event further places the Yatta-Kwa-Vonza MCA among leaders actively involved in the WPF’s ongoing national political engagements and mobilisation efforts.
