Talent, just like a little seed, needs to be nurtured and supported to flourish, develop and reach its full potential. The MK Nding’o Foundation has taken another step towards empowering young people through talent after supporting upcoming musician Christopher Muendo, popularly known as ISMART MWEENE, from Kimangu, Kavingo.
The foundation on Monday facilitated the shooting of a music video for ISMART MWEENE, whose musical talent and creativity caught the attention of the foundation’s leadership.According to Hon. Mark Nding’o, the initiative is part of the foundation’s commitment to identifying, nurturing and promoting talents among young people as a sustainable avenue for empowerment and economic opportunity.
“Christopher Muendo (ISMART MWEENE), a youth from Kimangu, Kavingo, touched my heart through his song, ISMART MWEENE. The foundation will help him to produce his songs,” Nding’o said.
He emphasized that young people need opportunities that enable them to develop their skills and become self-reliant rather than depending solely on handouts.“Our youth needs to be shown how to catch fish, but not given fish,” he said, underscoring the importance of investing in skills, talent and sustainable opportunities for the younger generation.
The initiative is expected to give ISMART MWEENE a platform to showcase his musical abilities while encouraging other talented young people in the area to pursue and develop their talents.
Through such programmes, the MK Nding’o Foundation seeks to promote youth empowerment by turning talent and creativity into meaningful opportunities for personal growth and economic independence.
