Kitui Central MP aspirant and Kyangwithya West MCA, Hon. Christopher Nzilu Nzioka, has stepped up his grassroots engagement after gracing the Annual General Meeting of Nuru Yetu Community-Based Organization at Ngengeka.
Nzilu, who also serves as the organisation’s Legal Advisor and a member, praised Nuru Yetu CBO for its continued efforts to empower residents through table banking. He said the initiative has become an important tool for strengthening household incomes while creating opportunities for the growth of micro and small enterprises within the community.
The Deputy Speaker emphasised that table banking should not be viewed merely as a financial arrangement, but as a vehicle for restoring dignity, strengthening unity and helping families overcome economic hardships. He noted that community-driven initiatives can play a critical role in improving livelihoods when supported through strong organisation and responsible leadership.
Nzilu said his involvement with grassroots organisations such as Nuru Yetu reflects the kind of leadership he intends to offer the people of Kitui Central if elected Member of Parliament in 2027. He pledged to champion initiatives that place residents at the centre of development while promoting equity, economic opportunity and sustainable livelihoods.
“As we move towards 2027, I remain committed to a constituency anchored on equity, opportunity and sustainable prosperity,” Nzilu said, signalling his determination to translate grassroots engagement into a broader development agenda for Kitui Central.
