The Burundi government is preparing to send buses to Kenya to facilitate the voluntary repatriation of its citizens amid a crackdown on foreign nationals hawking goods.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs said the arrangements are being coordinated with the Burundi Embassy in Nairobi.

The embassy will also issue free laissez-passer documents to Burundians who wish to return home. The development follows President William Ruto’s directive targeting foreign nationals engaged in hawking across Kenya.
