Kitui County CECM for Culture, Gender, Youth, ICT, Sports and Social Services, Ms. Phoebe Mutemi, has urged students across the county to stay away from any substances that may hinder their academic success and future dreams.
Speaking while addressing students at Yenzuva Secondary School in Kyome/Thaana, Mwingi West, Ms. Mutemi said institutions must mold students to live with purpose — by living intentionally, making the right choices, and taking actions that move them forward. She noted that this involves knowing oneself, choosing wisely, living meaningfully and discovering one’s true identity.
Ms. Mutemi further encouraged learners to understand and make use of their strengths, know their value, follow their passion and be themselves. She emphasized the need to dream big but start small, never limiting their imagination, but seeing themselves beyond the classroom — as doctors saving lives, engineers building bridges, artists inspiring hearts, leaders guiding communities, or innovators changing the world.
Ms. Lenah, the Head of the Institution, together with the students, lauded the CECM for her mentorship drive, terming it timely in shaping disciplined, focused and value-driven youth for Kitui County and the nation at large. They noted that they had taken note of the lessons and that the visit marked a new beginning for the institution. Ms. Mutemi was accompanied by AD Gender Purity Mutisya, Stella Kithome from the Gender Department, among other officers.
