KITUI, Friday, September 25, 2026 — Kitui Governor Dr. Julius Makau Malombe has commissioned three newly constructed slabs along the Kauma-Maseki Road, marking another step in the county government’s efforts to improve road infrastructure and connectivity.
The slabs form part of an ongoing road improvement project that also includes spot gravelling covering approximately 1.3 kilometres of the road.
Speaking during the commissioning, Governor Malombe said improved road infrastructure remains critical to facilitating the movement of people, agricultural produce and other goods across Kitui County.
The Kauma-Maseki Road project is expected to improve accessibility for residents and motorists, particularly by addressing sections that have previously affected smooth movement along the route.
The county government has continued to implement road improvement works across various parts of Kitui, with a focus on enhancing connectivity and supporting local economic activities.
The project is part of the county’s wider infrastructure programme aimed at improving access to markets, public services and other essential facilities for residents.
