Wikiliye–Katulani Road Project Reaches 66% Completion as KeNHA Board Reviews Progress
The Wikiliye–Kavisuni–Kanyangi–Wote Road, Section 1 covering the Wikiliye–Katulani stretch along the B61, has reached 66 per cent completion, with the Kenya National Highways Authority (KeNHA) Board commending the pace and quality of works.
During an inspection of the ongoing project, the Board assessed progress on the road and noted the steady implementation of the works, which are expected to improve connectivity within the corridor once completed.
The upgraded road is expected to reduce travel times, ease the movement of people and goods, and support socio-economic activities in communities along the route.
The KeNHA Board also paid a courtesy call to the Kitui County Commissioner, where challenges relating to land acquisition for ongoing road projects were discussed.
The County Commissioner committed to working closely with KeNHA and relevant stakeholders to address the land acquisition challenges and facilitate timely implementation of road projects across Kitui County.
The development is expected to help clear outstanding obstacles affecting infrastructure projects and ensure that ongoing works progress towards completion.
