His supporters also describe him as a progressive and accessible figure who could bring a younger generation into the constituency’s leadership. They have further portrayed him as a candidate capable of appealing beyond traditional political networks.
Some of his backers say there is growing interest among what they describe as “silent supporters” across Kitui Central, although the actual level of grassroots support will become clearer as the political contest develops.
