Yatta/Kwa Vonza MCA Mark Kitute Nding’o launched the Mark Kitute Nding’o Foundation (MK Nding’o Foundation), an initiative aimed at supporting bright and needy students within the community through bursaries and other education-focused interventions.The launch was held during a midterm scorecard review and thanksgiving event, where Nding’o returned to the people of Yatta/Kwa Vonza to account for his leadership record over the first two and a half years of his term.Nding’o said accountability begins with leaders’ actions, noting that decisions made by those in leadership should remain answerable to the people they serve. He described the engagement with residents as an opportunity to review progress, evaluate his performance and appreciate the community for its support.A major highlight of the occasion was the awarding of bursaries to 50 bright and needy students, marking the foundation’s first major intervention in education. The foundation also unveiled a van to support its programmes and activities.The event brought together senior political leaders, including Kitui Governor Dr Julius Makau Malombe, nominated Senator Beth Syengo and Kitui Central MP Dr Makali Mulu, alongside several members of the Kitui County Assembly.The foundation is expected to focus on education support for students from financially disadvantaged backgrounds, with the initiative positioning education as one of the key areas through which Nding’o seeks to support young people in Yatta/Kwa Vonza.A previous report on Nding’o’s foundation launch similarly described the initiative as targeting academically gifted students from needy backgrounds through scholarships and mentorship support.
