Thousands of residents turned up at Museve in Kyangwithya East Ward on Friday for a public engagement forum that turned into a show of political support for Kitui Central MP hopeful Boniface Mutisya Musambi.
The gathering brought together residents and local leaders for discussions on community issues, empowerment and the political direction of Kitui Central ahead of the 2027 General Election.
At the meeting, a section of residents publicly rallied behind Musambi, with some declaring him their preferred political leader for the constituency. The enthusiastic reception, marked by cheers and chants, gave the event a distinctly political tone.
Supporters described Musambi as a leader they believe can champion the interests of Kitui Central, particularly on development, opportunities for young people and community empowerment.
The gathering comes as political activity continues to build across Kitui, with several aspirants positioning themselves for parliamentary and other elective seats ahead of the 2027 polls.
For the residents who attended the Museve meeting, however, the message was clear: they want Musambi to remain at the centre of their political conversations as the race for Kitui Central takes shape.

Musambi’s supporters used the hashtag #NzeveNzau to amplify their message on social media, with some declaring, “Game over — it is Boniface Mutisya Musambi for MP Kitui Central 2027.”
