Kitui youth leader Antony Mwendwa has strongly condemned the heckling of Wiper Party leader Kalonzo Musyoka during the Linda Mwananchi rally, accusing supporters allied to Nairobi Senator Edwin Sifuna of disrespecting a senior opposition leader. Mwendwa termed the incident unfortunate, insisting that political differences should never be an excuse for disrespect or intimidation.
Mwendwa maintained that Kalonzo deserves respect for his political experience, leadership record and contribution to Kenya’s democracy. He called on political leaders to take responsibility for their supporters and promote mature political engagements instead of allowing rallies to become platforms for hostility and public humiliation.
Taking a firm position on the 2027 political succession debate, Mwendwa dismissed suggestions that Kalonzo could end up deputising Sifuna, insisting that such an arrangement was not going to happen. He argued that Kalonzo has his own presidential ambitions and should be recognised as a serious contender for the country’s top seat.

“At no given time will Kalonzo Musyoka deputise Sifuna,” Mwendwa insisted, expressing confidence that the Wiper leader will stand for the presidency in the 2027 General Election.
The youth leader further declared that Kalonzo would be on the ballot in 2027 and would emerge as Kenya’s next President. His remarks add to the growing political debate within opposition ranks over leadership, political seniority and who should lead the opposition’s presidential campaign as the country moves closer to the next General Election.
