Kitui South MP Dr Rachael Nyamai on Friday joined residents of Kitungati in Mbitini Ward, Kitui County, for an empowerment and public engagement forum hosted by Hon. John Kisangau Mbaki.
During the event, Nyamai commended President William Ruto for welcoming the Dangote Group’s planned $16 billion refinery investment in Lamu, describing it as a major development with the potential to create jobs, strengthen Kenya’s energy sector and reduce pressure on foreign exchange.
She said the project could position Kenya as a regional energy hub while creating employment opportunities for young people and supporting the country’s economic transformation agenda under the Bottom-Up Economic Transformation Agenda (BETA).
The event brought together several leaders, including Kitui East MP Nimrod Mbai, Beth Syengo, Penina Malonza, Martha Mati, Bonnie Musambi, Commissioner Ben Muasya, Dr Banda and Stephen Kasolo Kitole, among others. Nyamai also said residents had reaffirmed their support for President Ruto and his development agenda.
