Kitui Central MP hopeful Nzilu Nzioka today joined mourners at Kaluluini, Katulani, in Mulango Ward, during the final send-off of the late Kamando Mwini.
Nzioka condoled with the bereaved family, offering words of comfort and encouragement during the difficult period. He also prayed for the peaceful repose of the departed soul.
Addressing mourners, the 2027 parliamentary aspirant said Kitui Central cannot afford to gamble with another five-year term, calling for leadership that remains connected to the people beyond election campaigns.
He cautioned against what he described as seasonal and absentee politicians who appear during election periods but disappear after securing political support, leaving residents’ hopes unfulfilled.
“Kitui Central needs leadership that is present every day — a leader who walks with the people, shares in their pain, and builds the future together with them,” Nzioka said.
The aspirant, popularly associated with the slogan *Kamwana Ka Wia*, is positioning himself as a candidate advocating for accessible, consistent and people-centred leadership as the race for the Kitui Central parliamentary seat gathers momentum ahead of the 2027 General Election.
