Kitui Women Representative aspirant Fridah Makasi has intensified her grassroots engagements, taking her meet-the-people tour to Tharaka Ward in Mwingi North Constituency as she positions herself for the 2027 General Election.
Makasi traversed several villages, including Gatoroni, Kathoroko, Kanyengia, Kamayagi, Ciampiu, Mukuyu, Nthangani and Gacigogo, where she interacted with residents and engaged local communities on issues affecting their livelihoods and development priorities.
The growing grassroots engagements are part of Makasi’s efforts to strengthen her political networks and build support across Kitui County ahead of the 2027 electoral contest.
She is emerging among the contenders eyeing the Kitui Women Representative seat, which is expected to attract increased political competition as the incumbent, Irene Kasalu, sets her sights on the Kitui gubernatorial race.
With the 2027 elections drawing closer, the race to succeed Kasalu is gradually taking shape, with aspirants expected to intensify their grassroots campaigns as they seek to win the confidence of voters across the county.
