MWINGI WEST, KITUI — More than 4,000 women on Friday attended a women empowerment and public engagement forum at Ngongoni Chief’s Office grounds in Mwingi West, hosted by Mwingi West MP Hon. Charles Ngusya Nguna. The event brought together community leaders and a strong contingent of UDA supporters, with Kitui South MP Dr. Racheal Nyamai taking a leading role in the political and public engagement forum.
Dr. Nyamai highlighted what she said were key achievements of President William Ruto’s administration in Mwingi West and across Kitui County, urging residents to support the government’s development agenda. Residents attending the forum praised the national government, saying President Ruto had done more for Kitui County during his first four years in office than previous administrations.
Nyamai, who has emerged as a prominent leader of the UDA battalion in Kitui County, also led the “TWO TAM” political rally, calling on residents to support President Ruto’s re-election bid in the 2027 General Election. She urged the community to remain united behind the government and take advantage of development programmes being implemented across the county.
Host MP Charles Nguna reiterated his commitment to working closely with President Ruto’s administration, saying his priority was to ensure residents of Mwingi West benefit from government programmes and development projects. Nguna said the ongoing tarmacking of the Kwa Siku–Migwani–Mbondoni Road was progressing well and expressed confidence that the project would be completed by December.
Dr. Nyamai also told residents that, beginning in September, parents would not be required to pay university fees under the government’s new higher-education financing arrangements, with the government taking responsibility for the applicable costs. The leaders used the forum to encourage residents to support government initiatives while promising to continue championing development in Mwingi West and the wider Kitui County.
