Supporters of Kitui East parliamentary aspirant Rev Dr. Wilson Muange Musyoka have intensified calls for political change in the constituency, raising concerns over development, government allocations, and the current state of leadership ahead of the 2027 General Election.
In a statement circulated among residents, the supporters questioned whether the constituency has fully benefited from its long-standing political alignment with the national government. They argued that despite the area’s close ties to the ruling administration through its current Member of Parliament, many residents continue to seek visible development and improved public services.
The group posed several questions regarding the constituency’s share of national resources, wondering whether Kitui East has received adequate development allocations compared to other regions. They expressed concern that residents have yet to experience the level of transformation expected from a constituency closely associated with the government.
They also challenged the accountability of the current leadership, asking whether public resources intended for wananchi are being effectively utilized for the benefit of the people. The supporters emphasized the need for transparency and regular engagement between elected leaders and constituents.
Another issue raised was the accessibility of leadership. According to the statement, some residents feel that their concerns are not receiving sufficient attention due to what they described as limited physical presence and interaction between leaders and the electorate.

The supporters further questioned whether existing oversight mechanisms within the constituency are strong enough to hold leaders accountable. They argued that active citizen participation is essential in ensuring that elected officials remain focused on delivering their mandate.
The statement also touched on governance and constitutional responsibility, with the group urging leaders to remain faithful to the principles of accountability, equity, and service as outlined in Kenya’s Constitution.
Additionally, the supporters sought clarity on whose interests are being prioritized in leadership decisions. They called for policies and actions that place the needs of ordinary residents at the center of development planning and resource allocation.
As political conversations continue to gather momentum ahead of the 2027 elections, the group maintained that the ballot remains the most effective avenue through which citizens can evaluate leadership performance and determine the future direction of the constituency.
The supporters concluded by expressing confidence in Dr. Wilson Muange Musyoka’s bid for the Kitui East parliamentary seat, describing him as a leader capable of restoring the constituency’s development agenda and unlocking its full potential. They urged residents to embrace change and work towards what they termed a more prosperous future for Kitui East.
