Deputy Gov Kanani Joins Governor Malombe in mwingi for Commissionong of Key Development Projects in Waita Ward

Kitui Governor Julius Malombe on Thursday led a development tour of Waita Ward in Mwingi Central Sub-County, where he commissioned several infrastructure, health, water, and education projects aimed at improving the livelihoods of local residents. He was accompanied by Deputy Governor Wambua Kanani and other county officials.

Among the projects commissioned were the 45-metre Mutwangombe Drift, the 30-metre extension of Kathoka Drift, and related civil works designed to enhance road connectivity and ease movement within the ward. In the health sector, the governor officially opened the renovated outpatient block at Waita Health Centre and the newly equipped Maongoa Dispensary, boosting access to quality healthcare services for residents.

The tour culminated in the commissioning of the St. Paul’s Waita Senior School borehole project, which will serve both the school and the neighbouring Waita Comprehensive School. The project fulfills a pledge previously made by Governor Malombe to students and the local community. Speaking during the tour, the governor reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to development, noting that more than 3,000 projects have already been completed across the county, with many others currently underway to transform lives and support sustainable growth.
