Ol Kalou By-Election Signals UDA’s Declining Grip on Mt. Kenya, Says Mark Nding’o

Yatta/Kwavonza MCA and political analyst Hon. Mark Nding’o has claimed that the outcome of the Ol Kalou parliamentary by-election is a clear indication that the Kenya Kwanza administration and the UDA Party are losing support in the Mt. Kenya region.

Speaking during KBC’s Good Morning Kenya political talk show on Monday, Nding’o argued that despite what he described as significant government investment and involvement in the by-election, UDA failed to secure victory. He said the result reflects a shift in the region’s political landscape.

Nding’o further observed that today’s voters are more informed and independent in making electoral decisions compared to previous generations. He added that the Ol Kalou by-election outcome could provide an early indication of political trends ahead of the 2027 General Election, suggesting it may influence future campaign strategies and alignments
