KITUI, July 29, 2026 — Voo Kya Matu MCA Hon. Zack Syengo on Wednesday joined fellow Members of the Kitui County Assembly in unanimously approving the Kitui County Appropriation Bill, 2026 (County Assembly Bill No. 4 of 2026) during the afternoon plenary sitting.
The approval came after the Assembly had earlier adopted the Kitui County Budget Estimates for the 2026/2027 Financial Year, paving the way for the legal implementation of the county’s approved budget.
The Appropriation Bill provides the legal authority for the County Government of Kitui to withdraw and spend funds from the County Revenue Fund in accordance with the approved budget. It authorizes the allocation of funds for public services and development programmes for the financial year ending June 30, 2027.
The passage of the Bill marks the final stage of the county’s budget-making process, enabling the County Executive to begin implementing development projects and service delivery initiatives outlined in the 2026/2027 budget.
Speaking after the Bill was passed, Speaker of the County Assembly Hon. Kevin Kinengo Katisya commended Members of the Assembly for their commitment and cooperation in successfully concluding the budget process.
The Speaker urged the County Executive to ensure prudent, accountable, and transparent utilization of public resources, emphasizing that every shilling allocated should deliver value to the people of Kitui.
He also challenged Members of the County Assembly to remain vigilant in executing their constitutional oversight role to ensure the approved budget is implemented effectively and addresses the needs and aspirations of residents across the county.
Hon. Zack Syengo said the approval of the Appropriation Bill demonstrates the Assembly’s commitment to supporting responsible governance and ensuring resources are available to accelerate development and improve service delivery for the people of Voo Kya Matu Ward and the entire county.
