Opposition leader Kalonzo Musyoka received a warm reception in Gategi Market, Mbeere South, as hundreds of residents turned out to endorse his 2027 presidential bid, chanting the now-popular slogan “Wantam” in a show of unity and support.
The enthusiastic crowds lined the streets and packed the market centre, waving and cheering as Kalonzo addressed them on his vision for Kenya. The chants of “Wantam” echoed throughout the venue, signaling growing confidence in his quest to succeed President William Ruto in the next General Election.
Speaking during the campaign stop, Kalonzo thanked the people of Mbeere South for the overwhelming reception, posting on his social media platforms: “Asanteni sana Gategi Market, Mbeere South,” to express his gratitude for their support.
The Wiper Party leader reaffirmed his commitment to delivering honest, accountable and people-centred leadership, promising to revive the country’s economy, create jobs for the youth and strengthen public institutions if elected president in 2027.
Residents who attended the rally said they were impressed by Kalonzo’s message of national unity, economic transformation and inclusive governance, pledging to rally behind his presidential bid in the coming months.
The Mbeere South stop forms part of Kalonzo’s intensified nationwide campaign tours aimed at consolidating support across different regions as political activities gather momentum ahead of the 2027 General Election.
With large crowds, energetic chants and growing grassroots mobilisation, Kalonzo continues to strengthen his presidential campaign, positioning himself as one of the leading contenders in the race for Kenya’s highest office.
