Mwingi West Member of Parliament Hon. Charles Nguna was among dignitaries who attended the congregation and installation of Most Rev. Msgr. Fr. John Mbua Mwandi as the new Bishop of the Catholic Diocese of Kitui at St. Charles Lwanga Senior School in Kitui Central.
The occasion brought together Catholic faithful, Kitui residents and leaders who gathered to witness the historic installation and offer prayers and goodwill to the new Bishop as he begins his ministry. During the ceremony, MP Nguna, popularly known as CNN, was recognised by Archbishop Muheria, prompting cheers from the congregation in appreciation of his strong association with the Catholic faithful and the Church’s traditions.
Nguna was joined by Kitui Governor Dr. Julius Makau Malombe, Kitui Woman Representative Hon. Irene Kasalu, Senator Enoch Wambua, gubernatorial aspirant Hon. Nicholas Muinde Mulila and other national and county leaders.
The leaders congratulated Bishop Mwandi on his appointment and installation, wishing him God’s wisdom, strength and guidance as he takes on the responsibility of shepherding the Catholic Diocese of Kitui.
The installation marks a significant moment for the Catholic Church in Kitui as Bishop Mwandi assumes leadership and begins a new chapter of service to the faithful and the wider community.
