Mulila Pledges New Maternity Wing for Miambani

Governor hopeful Hon. Nicholas Mulila has pledged to support improved maternal healthcare services in Kitui, assuring residents of Miambani that a new maternity wing at a local health facility is expected to become operational by January next year.

Mulila said the project is part of his broader commitment to ensuring residents have access to essential healthcare services closer to their homes, particularly mothers who often face challenges accessing maternity care.

He pointed to operational maternity facilities at Kauwi Hospital and Mutomo Mission Hospital as examples of investments aimed at bringing maternal services closer to communities.

Mulila said his approach to leadership is centred on identifying pressing community needs and supporting practical solutions that deliver tangible benefits to residents.

The Miambani maternity project is expected to enhance access to maternal services in the area once completed and operational.

Mulila is seeking to position himself as an alternative leadership voice ahead of the 2027 Kitui gubernatorial contest, with healthcare and development among the issues featuring prominently in his campaign message.
