Incoming Kitui Senator, Dr Stephen Mbaya Kimwele, spent weekend, standing with the people in moments of cultural celebration, mourning and family unity across Mwingi. He first attended the traditional dowry payment ceremony for Kyambi Katholi at Ndiuni/Ndalani, Kivou Ward, Mwingi Central Constituency. The occasion brought together family members and in-laws from Kiomo Kyethani for the important traditional ceremony and in-laws’ visit. Later, Dr Kimwele joined family, friends and residents at the burial of the late Ben Makira Munyithya, popularly known as “Kwa Ben,” in Kasevi, Kivou Ward. He conveyed his heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family and mourned alongside the community. In his address, Dr Kimwele challenged his former teacher, Mr Mutukaa, to join Wiper and face him squarely at the party nominations, should he genuinely mean well for H.E. Stephen Kalonzo Mùsyoka and the future of the party. He later proceeded to Nzawa in Ngutani Ward, Mwingi West Constituency, where he attended the parental visit ceremony of Patrick Mwandi and Florence.
