The County Government of Kitui has postponed the Kitui Agricultural Show, Trade and Investment Expo (KASTIE) 2026, initially scheduled for September 24–26, 2026, and rescheduled it to March 11–13, 2027.
In a joint address to members of the Fourth Estate, CECM for Agriculture and Livestock Dr. Mbaya Kimwele and his Trade, Industries, MSMEs and Cooperatives counterpart Rose Mutuku said the postponement has been necessitated by delays in the approval and processing of the County Government’s 2026/2027 Financial Year budget, which affected timelines for securing logistical support and procuring goods and services required for the Expo.
They said the rescheduling will provide adequate time to complete the necessary financial processes and make the required arrangements for the Expo.
According to the CECMs, KASTIE provides the County with a platform to showcase its agricultural, trade and investment opportunities, attract investors and open markets for local businesses and farmers.

“The County Government of Kitui appreciates the encouraging work and efforts by all stakeholders to make the Kitui Agricultural Show, Trade and Investment Expo a success,” Dr. Kimwele said, appreciating farmers, exhibitors, investors, partners, government institutions and other stakeholders for their support.
Further, they encouraged stakeholders to continue with their preparations for the March 2027 Expo and indicated the County Government’s commitment to working with all stakeholders to ensure a successful and impactful event.
